Got a call from a dealer trying to register a new dealer. He wanted to know which package was the best.
Hi Mike,
Which dealer option is the best to get started with. New AMSOIL Dealers have the option of registering for 1 year for $30, 6 months for $15, 1 year plus business manual for $75. As well as an optional AMSOIL literature pack. So what should I tell this new dealer?
Recently my answer has changed because AMSOIL has the business manual available for download as well as the T-1 Certification test online (in the AMSOIL Dealers zone)
Here is my answer:
If I were talking with a new prospective dealer, my recommendation would be to go with the least expensive registration available. This is the $15 for 6 months dealer registration) Then I would recommend this dealer to use the money they would have spent on sales tools to help them get started.
- Business Cards $18 for 200 (see my post on the AMSOIL Print Center)
- Order G100 Retail Catalogs -$10 for 20
- Order AMSOIL Shirt – $40 for a nice polo
- Commercial Account registration kit $5 each
- Retail On the Shelf / Installer registration kit $5 each
- Website domain registration $9.95/year
- AMSOIL lubedealer website $20/year
This is an AMSOIL essentials list to get started as a new dealer. The cost (including the 6 months registration) is $125 approx. This will give you some tools to get you started on the fast track.
Once your 6 month dealership comes for renewal you should be able to pay for your yearly renewal fees ($39 a year) from your AMSOIL Commission check. Getting started right is essential to having a profitable and growing AMSOIL business.
As you can see, with any business venture there will be some start-up costs. With AMSOIL these costs are at a minimum and will be used to help you become profitable even in your very first year.

New Dealers can register two ways. They can fill out a paper application called a G18C and mail to AMSOIL. This application will have your sponsoring dealer name and number attached to it. Like the one I have here AMSOIL Dealer Application
